Location: South Shore Country Club
Description: Children will enjoy games, music and refreshments and haunted hayrides provided by the South Shore Country Club and Hingham Rec. Best of all, the party is free.
Date: October 26: Preschool with Parent Party 4:00 - 5:30 p.m. ; Grades K-5 Party 5:30 - 7:30 p.m.

Location: Wilder Nursery
Description: Wilder Nursery Children will participate in a costume party along with a parade.
Date: Oct. 30 from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. and Halloween day from 8:30-11:30 a.m. and 12:30-3:30 p.m.

Haunted Rides
Location: Hidden Pond behind Derby Street Shoppes.
Description: Families will take a ride around the Hidden Pond while monsters and ghosts pop out of the woods along the way. Cost is $1.

Location: Magic Beans at the Derby Street Shoppes
Description: Children can dress up and walk around Derby Street Shop to trick or treat.

Doggy Costume Contest
Location: REI
Description: Pet owners will compete to see who can dress their pooches in the cutest costume.
Date: Oct. 28, 1 p.m.
Sleepy Hollow Halloween Fun Run
Location: Wompatuck State Park
Description: The Sleepy Hollow Halloween fun run will include a professionally timed 5K road race and a family friendly 1K Walk. Runners are invited to wear their costumes. The price is $20 now and $25 after Oct. 25.

Pet Costume Parade and Competition
Location: Wompatuck State Park
Description: Pets will walk in a costume parade and then judges will pick the best looking one.

Halloween Story Times
Location: Barnes & Noble
Description: Join the Derby Street book stores’ staff as they read Halloween stories all week. On Wednesday, Little Goblins Ten will be the featured story followed by It's The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown by Charles M. Schulz on Friday and Monsters' Monster by Patrick McDonnell on Saturday and Trick or Treat Marley by John Grogan on Halloween Day

Big Ryan's Scary Halloween Tales
Location: Hingham Library
Description: Children are invited to wear their costumes and listen to Halloween stories that are appropriate for children. No registration is necessary.
