Hingham Assessor To Conduct Permit Inspections

From the Town of Hingham:

HINGHAM, MA — A representative of Vision Appraisal as well as the Assessor’s staff are inspecting homes for permits taken out in 2018 and 2019.

Town staff and independent contractors are also conducting inspections to verify property data (measure and list if possible).

All inspectors will have identification badges, letters of introduction, and their vehicles will have town or vision identification located on them.

Inspectors will stop at the front door, identify themselves, and ask permission to measure and to verify data.

We do not send out letters/cards or make appointments ahead of time due to the volume of inspections. Each year we inspect between 2500 and 3500 properties.

The inspector will not access fenced areas without permission.
