A five-year-old who was hit by a car is thanking the Hingham Police Department for helping him.
Last Friday, a driver in downtown Hingham ignored a stop sign and hit Luke Hanson, who was with his brother Ben and father, according to CBS Boston.
Police were at the scene to comfort Luke while waiting for EMTs and afterwards, the boys made thank you cards for the officers, a gesture that Hingham Police Sergeant Steven Dearth means more to the average officer than an official commendation.
