Hingham Boys' Cross Country Wins D3 East Crown

The win qualifies the Harbormen for the MIAA Division 1 All-State meet.

The harriers from Hingham will be among the best teams in the state next week after a stellar performance at the MIAA Eastern Divisional championship meet.

The Harbormen took first place in Division 3 race, edging second-place finisher Concord-Carlisle with a score of 109 to 114. Bishop Feehan of Attleboro finished third with 141 points and Oliver Ames took the fourth and final automatic team qualifier for the state meet with 160 points.

A pair of top-10 finishers led the way for Hingham with Michael Durkin and Ivan Frantz finishing in sixth and eighth place, running the 5K course in 16:42 and 16:43.

Jack Muldoon finished in 20th place with a time of 17:14. Liam Nolan’s time of 17:23 was good enough for 32nd and Evan Goddard rounded out the Harbormen’s top five as the 43rd runner to cross the finish line and a time of 17:40.

The Harbormen will race at the MIAA All-State championship meet at Stanley Park in Westfield.
