UPDATE: Redeye Roasters Advances to Final Four of Boston Area's Best Coffee Shops

Boston.com made a tournament bracket of 64 coffee shops, organized by region and is allowing readers to decide the winners.

Update, Friday:

Redeye Roasters defeated Marylou's, 201-133, advancing to Final Four.  The Hingham coffee shop beat out 15 other independent companies from the South of Boston.  Today they match-up against Blue State Coffee, which is located on Comm. Ave in Allston.

Upadate, Thursday:
Redeye Roasters has advanced to the Elite 8 of the Tournament. They will now take on Marylou's which also has a shop right in South Hingham.

This week the Boston Globe is celebrating Coffee Week by holding an independent coffee competition and one Hingham shop has advanced to the sweet 16.

Boston.com made a tournament bracket of 64 coffee shops, organized by region and is allowing readers to decide the winners.

Hingham’s Redeye Roasters on Route 3A has advanced to the third round, “The Strong 16.”

In Round 1 on Sunday and Monday, Redeye Roasters defeated Gunther Tootie's Bagel in Plymouth, 98-79.  On Wednesday in Round 2, the Hingham coffee house defeated Dawn Til Dusk in Weymouth, 62-45.

On Wednesday they matched up against Perks Coffee House in Norwood and as of 11 p.m. at night the results were not finalized.

If Redeye Roasters advances to the quarter-finals they will compete against the winner of Marylou’s (Hanover) or the Coffee Shack in Pembroke.

The top independent coffee shop will be announced on June 8 at 3 p.m.
