Hingham Crash: Quincy Driver Killed

An early morning crash has left a Quincy woman dead.

HINGHAM, MA — A Quincy woman has died following an early morning crash in Hingham.

At about 1:10 a.m., state police responded to reports of a one-vehicle crash just prior to exit 15 on Route 3 North. Upon arrival, troopers found a 2003 Volkswagen Jetta that left the roadway to the right side of the highway, struck the guardrail, and rolled into the woodline.

The driver, and only occupant of the vehicle, Brittany L. Hayden, 24, of Quincy, was ejected from the vehicle and sustained life-threatening injuries. Hayden was transported by Hingham EMS to South Shore Hospital, where she was pronounced dead, police said.

The right travel lane was closed during the incident and during the reconstruction. All lanes were opened, when the scene cleared at approximately 5:40 a.m.

The cause of the crash is under police investigation.
