Hingham Fourth of July Committee Needs Public’s Help To Fund Parade

Hingham 4th of July Committee Chair Jim Murphy said a successful fundraiser raises over one third of the parade's cost and expects 100-150 people to attend this year's event.

The Hingham 4th of July Committee is looking for donations for the upcoming parade.

On April 26, they will hold their annual Hingham 4th of July Parade Silent Auction Fundraiser at the Black Rock Country Club.

Fourth July Committee Chair Jim Murphy said the event will include a cash bar, appetizers and a silent auction full of items which range from sporting event tickets to hotel packages, limousine rides, restaurant gift certificates and ski lift tickets for next winter.

“This is a signature event for the town and we are trying to get as many people to come as possible, ” Murphy said.

All proceeds from the event will benefit the annual parade which is completely funded by private donations.

All the donated funds pay for the bands, clowns, entertainers and performers in the parade which is attended by up to 25,000 people each year.
