Hingham Gets Added Time To Match State Library Grant
Residents will now be able to consider matching at annual town meeting in the spring.

HINGHAM, MA — The state has given the town until April 30 to match its $9.2 million grant for renovations and an addition to the public library.
Town officials estimate the project will cost the town about $26 million. Part of that cost was awarded through a Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners construction grant in July, but a condition of that grant was that Hingham commit to matching the money by the middle of January 2019.
An extension to April 30 was requested by town officials, which the state board approved earlier this Month. Residents will now be able to consider matching at annual town meeting in the spring.
