Hingham High School Hits Home Run
Hingham High School winners of the Play Ball contest sponsored by Jordan's Furniture.
hit a home run for its contributions to the Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities program. Jordan’s Furniture asked schools to and Hingham High School collected the most items.
It was all for the Play Ball Program sponsored by Jordan’s Furniture last month. The donated items were given to underprivileged children through the Red Sox Foundation’s Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities outreach program.
“There’s so much that can be learned on a baseball diamond. Every American boy and girl should have the chance to experience these things regardless of where they grow up. The RBI (Reviving Baseball in the Inner City) Program is making that happen both in Boston and elsewhere across the country. At Hingham High School we’re glad to be joining with Jordan’s Furniture in supporting those efforts,” said Hingham High School Assistant Principal, Rick Swanson.

“This project gave us a chance to help support an important cause,” said Swanson. “The Red Sox Foundation and Major League Baseball have taken on the urgent task of expanding athletic opportunities for children growing up in inner-city communities and we ought to help them in whatever ways we can. The opportunity to participate in sports can – and should – be a part of everybody’s childhood.”
