Hingham Library to Open on Sundays

The announced last week that they will resume Sunday hours beginning on September 9.

On Sundays, the library will open between 1 and 5 p.m., Library Director Dennis R. Corcoran said in an email to Patch.

This will be the first time since 2008 that the town's taxpayers will fund the Sunday hours. The last four years, they have been paid for by anonymous donor.

Sunday library hours, which are typically in effect from September through April, were eliminated during budget cuts four years ago, as part of reducing the library budget, the Boston Globe reported.
