Hingham Man Charged In Hull Break-In

HULL, MA — A Hingham man attempted to break into a Hull home under construction, police said.

William Nickerson, 38, was arrested last week and charged with unarmed burglary, larceny of construction tools, larceny from a building, possession of a burglarious instrument, and possession of heroin (subsequent offense), according to the Hull Police Department.

On Oct. 12 at about 9:58 p.m., Hull Police responded to a report of a man breaking into a home under construction by entering through the basement. Police at the scene found an open basement door and Nickerson standing with several tools and construction equipment inside the home. Officers found more tools with the name of the company working on the home in the bed of Nickerson truck.

After officers learned that Nickerson was previously fired from the construction company and did not have permission to be at the property or to take the tools, they placed Nickerson under arrest and took him into custody without incident.
