Hingham Man in Rollover Gets Only Minor Injuries Thanks to Seatbelt

The crash took place on Main Street Tuesday afternoon.

HINGHAM, MA - An elderly man walked away from a car crash Tuesday with only minor injuries because he wore his seat belt.

At 3:06 p.m., police responded to a car crash on Main Street across from the Old Skip Church. Police say the car crossed into the oncoming lane, went off the road, became airborne over the sidewalk, and struck the stone wall.

The driver, a 74-year-old Hingham man, was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash and climbed out of the vehicle. He was transported to South Shore Hospital with minor injuries, according to the Hingham Police Log.

No charges have been filed. The crash remains under investigation.
