Hingham Police Investigating Possible Assault In 99 Parking Lot
Hingham police said a man sustained injuries from a possible car strike or assault in the 99 Restaurant parking lot on Jan. 22.
HINGHAM, MA — Hingham police are looking for the public's help in finding out what may have happened to a man found on the ground with serious injuries in the parking lot of the Hingham 99 Restaurant. Police said the man was found around 9 p.m. suffering from serious injuries that initially appeared to be from a fall, but that hospital staff told police the injuries were most consistent with an assault or being hit by a car.
Hingham police said the man in his 40s spent more than a week in a Boston hospital in serious condition before he was released. He is recovering at home this week.
Police said the man was eating in the restaurant that night and said he was going outside to smoke a cigarette. Customers then found him on the ground and called 911. Police said the restaurant staff has been very helpful, but that they need to hear from any witnesses.
