Hingham Police K-9 Stops Jacket Thief: PD
A Hingham police K-9 unit found a woman who police said stole jackets, sneakers and a car key from a Middle Street home.
HINGHAM, MA — A Quincy woman was arrested after police said she broke into a Middle Street house and stole several jackets. Lindsey Tyler Hurld, 36, was charged with breaking and entering at night, receiving stolen property over $1,200 and disturbing the peace. Police said their K-9 unit Pedy thwarted the woman's attempt at theft.
Around 12:12 a.m. Friday, police said they were called to the Middle Street home after a resident said she heard a noise downstairs and discovered Hurld inside the house. When the resident told Hurld to leave, she left wearing several jackets and also stole a bag, according to police.
Pedy searched the area and found Hurld hiding in the bushes on School Street, police said. Besides the jackets and bag, police said they also seized a pair of sneakers, food and a car key that belonged to the Middle Street resident.
