Hingham Police Log: Shoplifting, Drowning Swan, and More

May 10

1:15 p.m. - During a traffic stop at the intersection of Harvard Road and High Street, Brien Buckley, 28, of Steamboat Spring, Colo., was arrested and charged with speeding and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license (subsequent offense).

12:32 p.m. - Linda Santos, 47, of Kingston was arrested at Kohl’s on Derby Street and charged with shoplifting over $100 by asportation.

4:36 p.m. - A two-car crash was reported on Whiting Street. One person was transported to South Shore Hospital.

May 12

11:28 a.m. - A caller reported a baby swan that was stuck in fishing wire and drowning in the pond near Cushing Street and Route 228. The swan was free and returned to its parents.
