Hingham Police Make 3 OUI Arrests in Less Than 45 Minutes

Two of the arrests were second offenses, while a third occurred after a crash, according to police.

HINGHAM, MA — Police in Hingham had a busy early Sunday morning this week, charging three people with drunken driving in a span of about 45 minutes.

The first arrest came at 1:41 a.m. during a traffic stop on Summer Street. Kenneth Patts, 57, of Hull, was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of liquor, second offense; operating a motor vehicle negligently so as to endanger; and a marked lanes violation.

Less than seven minutes later at 1:49 a.m., police made another traffic stop on Hull Street. The operator, Nelson Rodriguez, 50, of Brockton, was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of liquor, second offense; operating a motor vehicle negligently so as to endanger; and a marked lanes violation.

Finally, the third arrest occurred at 2:23 a.m. near the intersection of Beal Street and Tuckers Lane. A caller told police that they heard a loud crash on Beal Street but couldn't see any vehicles. The operator of the car, Dionisios Hologitas, 30, of Brockton, was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of liquor, operating a motor vehicle negligently so as to endanger, and a marked lanes violation.
