Hingham Police Searching for Counterfeit Suspects
Police say the two attempted to use counterfeit $20 bills at the Derby Street Shoppes Rite Aid.
Police in Hingham are looking for two suspects in a counterfeiting case from New Year’s Eve.
Just after 3 p.m. on Dec. 31, a male entered the Rite Aid at the Derby Street Shoppes and used counterfeit $20 bills to purchase a Western Union money order, according to the Hingham Police Department. Several minutes later, a female suspect entered the store, also attempting to make the same purchase with fake $20 bills.
As the cashier began to use a pen to check the bills, the woman said she had to leave, took the bills back, and left.
