Hingham Ranked Among Top 50 MA Suburbs for Easiest Commute

Hingham is among the top 50 suburbs with the easiest commute in the Bay State, according to a new survey.

Niche, which ranks U.S. communities and colleges, this week released their list of the suburbs with the easiest commute in Massachusetts.” Hingham was 48.

Part of a release of multiple surveys, the rankings were based on age demographics, school ratings, crime rates, affordable housing, child care, libraries, and grocery stores, among other factors.

Here’s the top 10:

1. Somerville
2. Brookline
3. Amherst
4. Chelsea
5. Malden
6. Medford
7. Wellesley
8. Everett
9. Northampton
10. Ipswich

Here’s how Niche ranked Hingham’s key attributes:

• Take Public Transportation to Work: 20.53 percent
• Drive Alone to Work: 63.05 percent
• Nearby International Airport: 1
• Bike to Work: 0.00 percent
• Walk to Work: 2.78 percent
• Commute to Work Less Than 20 Minutes: 38.98 percent
