Hingham Resident, Firefighter-In-Training Saves 3 From Weymouth Fire

Jackie Giacchetti rushed into two burning buildings in Weymouth on her way home from a test at the Firefighting Academy.

WEYMOUTH, MA – A firefighter-in-training got a head start on her future career Thursday, saving three people from dual burning buildings in Weymouth. Hingham resident Jackie Giacchetti, who is training to be a firefighter in Braintree, was on her way home from taking a test at the state Firefighting Academy when she saw smoke rising from Washington Street, according to Wicked Local.

Once at the scene, she saw emergency crews had not yet arrived and rushed into the burning nail salon to help the two women inside get out. She then turned to the neighboring house and helped the man inside get to safety.

"I didn't think twice about it," the 30-year-old Hingham resident told Wicked Local.
