Hingham Square Business Struck By Fire

Firefighters were at the scene of a late night blaze in Hingham Square

HINGHAM, MA — Firefighters in Hingham responded to a fire on South Street late Monday night.

At about midnight, Hingham fire received reports of smoke and fire from the Sherwin Williams Paint Building in Hingham Square, according to scanner reports. The fire was knocked down by 1:12 a.m. and crews left the scene at about 4 a.m.

The fire marshall and Hingham police detectives were requested to the scene as part of the investigation.

Fire officials told the Patriot Ledger that about $200,000 in damage was caused by the blaze.

The fire remains under investigation Tuesday morning.
