Hingham Water System Sale Could be Years Away
With both sides far apart, it's now up to a Suffolk County Superior Court judge to decide a fair price.

HINGHAM, MA - It will likely be a very long time before Hingham buys the town's water and plant system from Aquarion, if it happens.
The town is offering to buy the system for $49.9 million according to the Patriot Ledger, while Aquarion says the system is worth between $96.1 million and 144 million.
With both sides far apart, it's now up to a Suffolk County Superior Court judge to decide a fair price.

At town meeting, voters will be asked to approve $300,000 for legal expenses. So far, the town has spend $1.2 million in legal fees.
