Hingham High School seniors Dana Bahrawy, Thomas Costello and Matt Gill “have been instrumental in delivering news and information to the school via a weekly magazine style program at HHS called ‘The Friday Show,’ ” said Katy Gallagher, Library Media Specialist/WHHS-TV Channel 22 Director.

Each week, Gallagher gives her three producers a show premise. Staying within guidelines, they come up with a show concept (Bahrawy and Gill credit Costello as the real idea man) that is entertaining and delivers an important message. “Don’t Text and Drive” was a favorite episode with students, teachers and assistant principals.
" 'The Friday Show' had all but been canceled when these three grabbed the reins and made it something other students will want to own in the future, continuing this longstanding HHS tradition” said Gallagher.
The seniors are building their team, “recruiting for next year” to ensure "The Friday Show" continues after they graduate.
The experience illuminated what each wants to do in life, which is the “best thing you can get from high school,” said Bahrawy.
The experience gave Costello the direction he needed for college. Bahrawy sees it as a “springboard to a career…in front of the camera,” and Gill cites it as the catalyst for choosing the Media Studies program at Fairfield University. Gill edits the shows and all three students use Final Cut Express, “a sophisticated software for video editing” that will help in college said Gallagher.
"The Friday Show" airs in every classroom at 9 a.m. each week. Gallagher compiles programs that can be seen on Hingham Cable Access and Media’s Education Channel.
