eCYBERMISSION is web-based, and offers a free competition where students in grades 6-9 can use their curiosity and studies in science, technology, engineering and math to move knowledge out of the classroom and into the real world by presenting possible solutions for real issues in their communities.

The boys named themselves the Wind Wizards team and worked with teacher and team advisor Adam Norcott on their project which proposed more efficient car batteries to reduce pollution in the air.

Their research showed that 31 percent of the carbon dioxide in our air comes from automobile pollution, and is a significant contributor to global warming.

“We think that charging a battery on a moving car and then switching the batteries when the car starts to slow down will be a huge improvement to the normal battery car,” the boys said in their report for the competition.

Stacy Jagodowski, Director of Communications for , said that the team’s plan would incorporate wind turbines to charge batteries.
