Hull Officer Injured In Bridgewater Crash

Firefighters needed the Jaws of Life to free the driver of one of the vehicles.

BRIDGEWATER, MA — A Hull police officer was injured in a car crash in Bridgewater Thursday morning.

At about 9:40 a.m., a Hull Police Department SUV and a sedan crashed at an intersection on Route 18, according to the Enterprise. Both drivers were taken to South Shore Hospital with serious but non life-threatening injuries. A canine in the police vehicle is expected to be alright.

Firefighters needed the Jaws of Life to free the driver of the sedan and had to cut off the top of the car.

The SUV suffered heavy front end damage.

Thursday afternoon, Hull Police confirmed that Officer John Mercer and his K-9 partner Kenny were the ones in the crash.
