Stabbing Suspect Dies After Cohasset Police Used Stun Gun: DA
Investigators are trying to figure out why the man died as police arrested him.

COHASSET, MA — A 25-year-old man died after being zapped with a stun gun and taken into police custody, according to the Norfolk County District Attorney's office. Cohasset Police were attempting to stop Erich Stelzer, 25, from stabbing a 24-year-old woman. The woman was treated at an area hospital.
In a statement, Norfolk DA Spokeswoman Peggie Krippendorf said police were called to a house on Church Street around 10 p.m., Thursday. When they entered the house, they saw Stelzer stabbing the woman and tried to get him to stop by using the stun gun. Krippendorf said police gave Stelzer immediate medical attention after he was subdued.
Stelxer died while being taken to the hospital in an ambulance,Krippendorf said. The District Attorney's office is working with the Massachusetts Medical Examiner's Office and State Police detectives to determine why Stelzer died.
