National Grid Night Work On Route 228 In Hingham

From the Town of Hingham:

National Grid will be replacing the natural gas main on portions of Route 228 along East Street, Leavitt Street and Rockwood Road. This will be night work with road closures.

National Grid is committed to safely and reliably delivering energy to our community. That’s why we are replacing the natural gas main at 4 to 263 East ST.; 17 to 51 Leavitt ST.; 1 to 12 Rockwood RD., Hingham, MA. As part of this project, we will also replace the natural gas service piping that connects the main to the customer’s gas meters. Approximately 93 premises are within the construction limits.

Completion time: Approximately November 27, 2020

Construction days and hours: 7:00 P.M. - 5:00 A.M. Sunday thru Friday NIGHT WORK

Please note that this work will take place at Night

Construction is anticipated to last to November 27, 2020 weather permitting. We will work hard to complete this project promptly and with minimal disruption to the community.
