New Assistant Principal, Athletic Director Join Hingham High School

Two new members of the Hingham High School staff were introduced to the school committee this week.

HINGHAM, MA — Two new members of the Hingham High School staff were introduced to the school committee this week.

High school Principal Richard Swanson announced that Collin Shattuck will be the school's new assistant principal while James Quatromoni will be the athletic director following Margaret Conaty's retirement in October.

The assistant principal position attracted nearly 80 applicants, according to Swanson. Shattuck comes to Hingham after seven years as a special education teacher at Wellesley High School. He graduated from Wheaton College in Norton in 2004 and earned a Master's Degree from Framingham State Universtiy.

Quatromoni only had to move a town over for his new job. The Hull native was previously a basketball coach and athletic director at Hull High School, once being named the Boston Globe's coach of the year. He spent 15 years at his alma mater. He attended UMass Boston and the University of Phoenix.

Nearly 90 people applied for the AD opening.

Quatromoni is still in contract negotiations but Superintendent Dot Galo said she is confident they'll come to an agreement.
