New Cycling Studio Opens in Hingham

RipRides is now open at the Anchor Plaza on Route 3A.

The following is a news release.

Now open on Route 3A in the Anchor Plaza near the Shipyard, RipRides is the South Shore’s first indoor cycling studio that uses performance-based technology to track riders’ results. Each Schwinn® bike includes a mini digital terminal that measures riders’ cadence, resistance, speed, calories, distance and overall power – data that is then integrated into the customization of each class and available online to riders after the class. This innovative approach to traditional cycling classes gives riders the information they need to put more effort into their workout and achieve better results.

RipRides’ lead instructor, Ali Winslow, is a familiar face in Hingham’s sports and fitness community. She is an accomplished marathon runner and triathlete as well as a personal trainer, lacrosse coach, CrossFit coach and certified cycling instructor. “After teaching hundreds of group exercise classes, I was drawn to the innovative approach of RipRides Performance IQ system to give every rider a real reason to go the extra mile,” said Winslow. “We’ve created a unique system that fuses fitness and exercise methodology with dynamic training, high-energy music and a team-inspired approach to a fantastic workout. Applying the technology to how we teach the classes gives the instructors an opportunity to always mix it up. That makes it both fun to teach the classes and rewarding to take them.

“I’m recommending RipRides to all the athletes I coach – from youth and adults just getting into fitness to experienced cyclists, runners, and triathletes. By measuring every moment of the workout, real-time results become more motivating and more worthwhile. For any fitness level, RipRides gives that extra boost to maintaining an active and healthy lifestyle,” said Winslow.

Located minutes from the Shipyard with easy parking and convenient access to the commuter ferry as well as full service locker rooms, Rip Rides is an independent business operating inside Reebok CrossFit Bare Cove. Class times and styles vary from the 5:30AM RipRide 45-minute express classes to RipRide Plus classes that integrate cycling with body conditioning for an intense head-to-toe workout. The studio has showers, towels and the amenities needed to fit workouts into busy schedules.

“The idea for RipRides started with the simple premise that everyone can be an athlete,” said RipRides founder, Jeff Carone of Hingham, a coach and former high school health, wellness and physical education teacher. “Cycling classes should be motivating but should also produce results. I’ve taken way too many where the music has been great but the momentum fades away. With RipRides, we set out to create an experience that measures momentum so riders can challenge themselves and feel the adrenaline rush of high athletic performance.

“From our convenient location, easy parking, showers and amenities to our high-powered efficient classes, with RipRides we’ve created a ‘no-excuses’ workout,” added Carone, who is a certified SpinTM cycling instructor.

Through the Performance IQ system, riders also have the option to receive online metrics from each class and maintain a digital log of workouts for goal setting and achievement.

On September 2o, from 8am – 12N, RipRides is hosting its grand opening with free classes, samples from local business partners, special class packages for attendees and demos on how best to use the Performance IQ system to achieve personal goals.
