New Tavern Opening in Downtown Hingham?

A sketch of a Hingham Tavern sticks to the window of the vacant building across the street from the CVS on South Street.

Although it has not been confirmed,  it looks like a new restaurant could be opening in downtown Hingham.

The sketch of the "Hingham Tavern" is posted on the vacant building on South Street which used to be Joseph's Home Center: Do It Best.

Both the Hingham Board of Health and Hingham Selectman have denied hearing any news of the Tavern.  The selectman's office also said they have not received any new liquor licenses for any South Street businesses.

If a new tavern opened on South Street, it  would challenge other Downtown Hingham restaurants such as  Tosca, Caffe Tosca, the Snug, Liberty Grille, Salsa's, and Stars.
