Old Colony Montessori School Hosts Community Open House
Visit OCMS on Saturday, January 28th from 10:00am to 12:00pm and learn more about 2, 3 and 5 days programs for children ages 2.9 to 10.

Hingham's Old Colony Montessori School (OCMS) will host an Open House for prospective parents and caregivers on Saturday, January 28, 2017 from 10:00am to 12:00pm at their campus located at 247 Gardner Street. OCMS is now enrolling for the 2017-2018 school year and children ages 2.9 to 10 years old and invited to attend the Open House with their parents - exploring the classrooms, meeting the teachers and experiencing the joy that exudes through the halls at OCMS every day.
Offering 2, 3 and 5 day morning programs for younger students and 5-day full day and Elementary programs for older students, OCMS provides a nurturing environment in which “playing to learn” truly is imbedded in the culture of the school. Enrichment specialists teaching spanish, organic gardening, art, music and physical education round out the robust Montessori classroom curriculum. A brand new outdoor classroom, sports court and outdoor shaded play area, a direct result of the “Stronger Together” fundraising effort in 2016, offer students ample time and opportunity to bring their learning and play outside - enhancing sensorial development, awareness of nature and natural surroundings and a chance to explore gross motor development and movement.
“OCMS holds a special place in my heart - not because my children learn facts but because they learn life skills that will stay with them forever and help them become wonderful and thoughtful individuals. OCMS fosters their love to learn, collaborate, innovate, critically think, publicly speak and make sense of the world around them, becoming confident and self-driven participants in and out of the classroom,” says current OCMS parent, Victoria Fine.
