Pembroke Man Cited In Crash That Killed Hingham Teen
David P. Oxner, 20, was cited for motor vehicle homicide by negligent operation and making an improper turn.

WEYMOUTH, MA — A Pembroke man will faces charges for a fatal Weymouth crash that took the life of a Hingham man.
David P. Oxner, 20, was cited for motor vehicle homicide by negligent operation and making an improper turn. Both charges are misdemeanors. Weymouth police have sought a clerk magistrates hearing at Quincy District Court, Weymouth Police Capt. Richard Fuller told the Patriot Ledger.
On Aug. 10, police responded to a report of a crash at Union Point. Police say 19-year-old Samuel Gates was riding a motorcycle with his girlfriend when his bike was struck by an SUV driven by Oxner. Both vehicles caught on fire and Gates was pronounced dead at the scene. His girlfriend was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital.

Oxner was not injured. His license has been suspended while the motor vehicle homicide charge remains pending.
