Police Announce New Level 3 Sex Offender Living Near Hingham Line

The Weymouth Police Department has announced that a level 3 sex offender now resides in the area.

WEYMOUTH, MA — The Weymouth Police Department has announced that a level 3 sex offender has moved into the area.

Timothy Gayhart, 31, now resides at 269 Neck St., according to the state's Sex Offender Registry Board. The address is near Route 3A and the Weymouth-Hingham town line. In 2012, he was convicted of assault with intent to commit rape and indecent assault and battery on a person 14 years old or older.

Gayhart is currently not wanted by police. Sex offender registration information shall not be used to commit a crime against an offender or engage in illegal discrimination or harassment of an offender. Any person who uses sex offender registration information for such purpose shall be punished by no more than two and one-half years in a house of correction, a fire of up to $1,000, or both. Any person who uses sex offender registration information to threaten to commit a crime may be punished by a fine up to $100 or by imprisonment for up to six months.
