Rain Pushes Hingham Tennis Team's State Championship Match to Saturday

Hingham girl's tennis will play for a Division 2 State Championship on Saturday at Rahanis Park in Burlington at 1:30 p.m.

The Hingham High School girls’ tennis team will play for a State Championship on Saturday against Concord Carlisle.

The game will be played at Rahanis Park in Burlington at 1:30 p.m.

"The Hingham girls will rise to the occasion and will be prepared for this match," said Hingham head coach Linda Partridge.

Rain has pushed the Championship between North and South finalists to this weekend.  It was originally scheduled for June 11.

With a singles win from Emma Alderman and doubles victories by Maxine Bergstein and Delaney Dunlap and Nikki Lund and Ashland Stansbury, Hingham defeated Scituate last week.

In first singles,Alderman from Hingham, defeated Nikki Lazaris of Scituate 6-0, 6-0.

In second singles, Tess Malerbi from Scituate defeated Danielle Vanzura from Hingham 6-4, 6-0.

In third singles, Coleen ford of Scituate defeated Laura Hern from Hingham 6-3, 6-3.

In first doubles, Bergstein and  Dunlap from Hingham, defeated Roisin Sullivan and Emily Richard from Scituate 6-2, 6-3.

In second doubles,  Lund and Stansbury from Hingham, defeated  Caroline Kiddie and Casey White from Scituate 2-6, 6-2, 6-2.
