Road Race and Parade on Tap for Fourth of July in Hingham

The road race starts at 7 a.m. with the parade to follow at 10 a.m.

From the Hingham Police Department:

Two annual community events on the same day, The Road Race and July 4th Parade, require road closures and detours. As a result, we advise people to allow more time to travel to get through town. Please expect delays. The roads closures and detours this year are the same as in previous years.

Road Race, typically 2,000-2,300 runners will begin promptly at 7 a.m. from Hingham Middle School, will require Main St. (Rte. 228) to be closed at Queen Anne’s Corner/Norwell (Rte. 53) to all traffic at 6:40am. Additionally, at 6:50am all southbound traffic on Main St. (Rte. 228) will be detoured onto parallel side roads. By approximately 8:30am Rte. 228 will be re-opened to traffic in both directions.
