'He's Gonna Crash!' Video Catches Moments Before Alleged Drunken Driving Crash

A harrowing video documents the moments leading up to a frightening crash that everyone could tell was coming.

COHASSET, MA — As witnesses recorded a swerving vehicle in front of them on Route 3A, everything about what they were seeing screamed "crash." Moments after the vehicle nearly swerved off the road to the right and then swung left crossing the yellow lines, what seemed inevitable to documenting passengers in a trailing vehicle actually happened.

Cell-phone footage captured the moments before a Jeep Grand Cherokee swerving all over the road in the rainy, foggy weather on Labor Day weekend. The driver allegedly was under the influence.

"Does this kid think he's in GTA?" One voice says as the Jeep moved from the center of the road to nearly off the right shoulder.

"Here he goes, he's done. He's gonna crash right here, it's over. Here's the accident right here, close your eyes," another voice said before the Jeep seems to disappear into the fog on the horizon.

Seconds later, the car recording the Jeep on someone's cell phone caught up to the Jeep, which was involved in a serious head-on crash with a Ford Taurus. They continued to film the immediate aftermath of the wreckage.

"Oh my God! Call the cops now, holy s---!" the recording party said after seeing the crash.

Police say the driver of the Jeep, identified as Laura Farrell, 53, of Situate, crashed into the Taurus after swerving into the opposite side of the road Sunday around 5 p.m. A third vehicle, a Ford Edge operated by a 42-year-old Madison, New Hampshire man, also crashed in an attempt to avoid the Jeep.

The driver of the Taurus, a 69-year-old Brookline woman, was taken to South Shore Hospital in Weymouth with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

The Taurus and Grand Cherokee were totaled in the crash. The Edge sustained lesser damage but had to be towed. Route 3A was shut down for about an hour due to the crash.

Farrell was to be arraigned Tuesday in Quincy District Court, but did not appear for her arraignment. A default warrant for her arrest has been issued.
