Sobriety Checkpoint Hitting Plymouth County

The sobriety checkpoint will be held at an undisclosed community somewhere in Plymouth County, Massachusetts State Police said.

HINGHAM, MA — A sobriety checkpoint will be held somewhere in Plymouth County this weekend. Massachusetts State Police will conduct the checkpoint Saturday, Aug. 31 into Sunday, Sept. 1. Per the department's policy, the exact time and location were not divulged.

Police said the checkpoint is designed to increase awareness about the need to catch and remove impaired drivers from the road. The checkpoint's hours will vary.

The checkpoint was funded by a grant from the state Highway Division of the state Executive Office of Public Safety and Security.
