Underground Wire System Coming to North Street
The town hopes to have the old system above ground power system removed by early December.

New Street lamps from the former Settles Glass building to Hingham Harbor are now across North Street.
The Hingham Journal reports that the work is almost done, with the removal of the old light poles and overhead wiring for the last five property owners that pay to be connected to the underground system remaining on the to-do list.
The remaning owners will have until Nov.15 to pay the $2,000 fee or will face a disruption to their service. The town hopes to remove the overhead wiring and old poles by early December.
