Wahlburgers At Hingham Shipyard Announces Closure

HINGHAM, MA — After nearly 15 years of serving burgers at the Hingham Shipyard, Wahlburgers has announced it will close its doors.

While the burger chain is saying goodbye to Hingham, it is already searching for a new location in the Boston area.

The restaurant first opened at the Hingham Shipyard in 2011 and was later featured in the reality TV series “Wahlburgers.” The series featured chef Paul Wahlberg and his two brothers, actor Mark Wahlberg and New Kids on the Block singer Donnie Wahlberg.

While the chain has strong Massachusetts roots, it has grown to more than two dozen locations across the country. In Massachusetts, Wahlburgers still has locations in Springfield, Plainville and Boston’s Fenway neighborhood.

When announcing the closure on social media, the restaurant thanked the customers and employees who have supported the Hingham location over the years.

“We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who walked through our doors, shared a meal with us and made this restaurant part of their lives. Thank you to our guests, our team members and the Hingham community,” the restaurant said on Facebook.

The restaurant said it hopes to see members of the Hingham community one last time before it closes its doors on Sept. 30.
