Wrong Car Left At Home Of Hingham Break-In
Police say a car belonging to a Summer Street resident was found in Canton and the car left in their driveway was reported stolen.

HINGHAM, MA — Police are investigating a house break-in that resulted in an involuntary car swap.
On Aug. 29, officers in Hingham were asked by the Canton Police Department to check on a home on Summer Street after a car belonging to a resident on the road was discovered in Canton. Officers at the scene found the home had been broken into and a car left in the driveway. The car, a 2006 BMW X3, had been previously reported stolen from Boston, police said.
The suspects broke into the home by smashing a side window. Numerous items such as electronics and jewelry were taken from the home and car found in Canton was stolen from the driveway. The residents had not been home during the break.
