Zendo Attracts Customers With Live Music, Hibachi Grills and Outdoor Dining

One of the best kept secrets in Hingham restaurant industry is the at the Hingham Shipyard.

The Shipyard restaurant not only offers fine Asian dishes and delicious sushi, but they now have live music and DJ on Friday and Saturday nights, Hibachi grills seven nights a week, and a dinner/ movie  specials on Sunday.

Zendo employee Ann Le says the live DJ just started a few weeks ago and she hopes to see more customers come down for a drink and dance in the lounge. The music, which is in the restaurant's back lounge, begins at 9:30 p.m. and runs until 1 a.m.

Zendo also offers Happy Hour specials from Monday to Thursday from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. and from 9:30 p.m. to close.  With the specials  customers can either receive half price on any appetizer with the purchase of a bar drink or take 15 percent off their entire meal (alcohol not included).

On Sundays, the Asian Bistro also lets kids ages 3-12 eat free.  The unique special is only offered to one child who dines with only one adult.

On Sundays, Zendo also gives customers who eat at their restaurant $5.00 towards movies at their Hingham Shipyard neighbors, the Patriot Cinemas.

But with all the fine specials, tasty drinks along with Japanese, Chinese, and Thai choices, Le said one of the most popular options is eating at the Teriyaki counters  where Zendo’s finest chefs cook customers’ meals right in front of their table. Zendo's website said the Hibachi grills "provide the thrill of watching experienced chefs in action."

Besides the specials,  Shipyard restaurant also offers a beautiful atmosphere with Al Fresco dinning with cushioned seats which Le says is very popular amongst customers during the summer months.

“Lots of people love sitting outside,” Le said.

During the warm afternoons this March, Le said customers have already flocked to the Asian restaurant for the chance to dine outdoors.
