5 Things You Missed at the Selectmen's Meeting
The board of selectmen approved staging for Enter Stage Left, held an All Hand's Meeting and more.

In case you didn't make it to the meeting last night, here are 5 things you missed.
1. The selectmen agreed to use the Marathon Fund money to purchase staging for with the stipulation that it be owned by the town, in case ESL ever disbands. The cost of the staging was $4,639.30. The Marathon Fund voted in favor of this request in July. The vote was four to one in favor, with Michelle Gates opposed.
2. The selectmen held an all hand's meeting with department heads/committees/boards and commissions to determine the FY12 goals. The meeting was facilitated by Marc Wey, a professional facilitator hired by the town. They discussed goals relating to five areas: preservation of fiscal health, to resolve the issue of , to create an asset management plan, to develop a plan for employee wellness and training and to enhance communication and civic engagements. Wey will submit a report based on the results of the meeting.

3. The selectmen accepted the appointment of two special officers from Police Chief Richard Flannery. They are HPD Dispatcher Michael Goodwin and HPD Dispatcher John Corridan.
4. The appointing committee accepted two new candidates to the for terms through June 2014. They are Pam Waxlax of 15 Smith Rd. and Wayne Pacheco of 38 Greenwood Rd.

5. The selectmen looked at the goals of , Norman Khumalo for FY12 and decided that they would review them, adjust and approve at the Sept. 6 meeting.
