5 Things You Need to Know Today: Aug. 21

The Holliston Historical Society is looking for vendors for its 31st Annual Antiques and Craft Fair on Sept. 18.

  1. If you're looking for a new place, check out some open houses in the area on Sunday.
  2. The Central Mass Thunder Fastpitch Girls Softball organization is holding the last of four tryouts for its 2011-2012 season.

    Tryouts for ages 12U, 14U, 16U, and 18U will be held at the Pisini Field Complex on Peck Street in Franklin. Times for each age group are listed on the Thunder's website.

    Players from the surrounding region who wish to compete at the highest level are encouraged to try out.
  3. The paintings of Holliston artist David Bastille will be on display at through the end of August.
  4. According to weather.com, there will be a high of 83 degrees, a low of 65 and a 30 percent chance of scattered thunderstorms.
  5. The will host the from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 18.

    The event is free of charge with a rain date of Sept. 26.

    The Historical Society is also looking for vendors to set up booths during the fair. Interested vendors can find further information and fill out an application online.
