5 Things You Need to Know Today: July 25
1. Remember all that talk of town around Town Meeting in May? Well, the compensation study that voters approved $30,000 to pay for is among the items to be discussed at the meeting at 7 p.m. in Town Hall.
2. Summer park and recreation camps begin another week, including Little Kids Favorites with a Twist, which runs from 9-11 a.m. at the , and features modified games such as bean bag basketball and Frisbee bowling.
3. It’s almost August, which means that fall and even winter sports athletes are starting to get back into shape for their upcoming seasons. Holliston Youth Basketball boys open gym runs Monday night at 7 at Holliston High School. For boys in grades 2-8, the sessions are free and will be run based on attendance.
4. Speaking of basketball, Holliston Youth Basketball meets at the Pinecrest Golf Club at 8:30. New officers for the coming year will be elected.
5. The 2011-2012 school year starts five weeks from Tuesday, which means the break is exactly half over. If at least a few check-marks haven't appeared on your summer of 2011 to-do list--or your reading list--it's time to get cracking!
