5 Things You Need to Know Today: June 27

On Monday, we have a Selectmen's meeting a several camps for the kids.

    Led by Boston College men's soccer coach Ed Kelly, the camp will be held for the 23rd straight year in Holliston.

    The camp is for players age 6 to 12 and will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day. The cost of the camp is $200 with team and sibling discounts available.

  3. A lifeguard will be present at 's beach on weekdays until August 12. Lifeguards will be on duty for limited hours on weekends. Please call the Recreation office at 508-429-2149 between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. to find out when lifeguards are scheduled.
  4. The first of four sessions of "Arts & Crafts Galore" will be held from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the office (100 Linden St.). Local artist and teacher Laurie Leavitt leads the class, which is for children 8 to 12 years old.

    Cost is $95, which includes $16 for materials. The course runs through Thursday and will teach children to make air-dry clay wind chimes and necklaces, hooked rugs, birdhouses and more.

    Children are also encouraged to bring a snack and drink every day.
  5. Monday is the first day of the Panthers Spirit Camp, which will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday through Wednesday at . The three-day camp will explore all aspects of being a cheerleader, cheers, chants, dances and some basic stunt techniques.

    Spots are open for interested particpants in grades 2-8. All camp activities will be supervised by HHS cheerleading coach Carrie Klimeczko.
