1. The Holliston Newcomers Club (HNC) is holding its First Annual 10K Road Race from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
   
   The profits from this event will fund the HNC’s annual grant awards. Each year, the Holliston Newcomers Club provides over $20,000 in grants to local organizations that give back to the community. Over the years, grants have been used to support the , , and Departments and Council for the Arts, among many others.
   
   A Trek 700 Hybrid bicycle will also be raffled off following the race.
2. According to weather.com, the forecast calls for rain with a high of 57 degrees and a low of 53.
3. Resort to Laughter, a team participating in the American Cancer Society's 2011 Relay for Life of Ashland/Holliston, is having a yard sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 918 Waverly St. in Framingham.

5. Juniors and seniors interested in learning more about the college application process is invited to come to the Alumni College Forum on May 19 during DSB. The forum will feature opinions and advice from recent HHS grads and seniors. To attend, RSVP in the Guidance Office or to Class of 2012 President Marshall Cohen by May 18.
