ABC's of Yoga--- What kind of Yoga do you do?

What kind of Yoga do you do? You must have heard this question several times if you are a yoga practitioner or a yoga teacher.

For me, I do Yoga where all three basic elements of this practice come together---- the Alignment, the Breathing and the Concentration or ABC's of Yoga.

In Patanjali, this covers all the limbs of Yoga after the first two which is Yama and Niyama. Then comes Asana where Alignment is the key followed by Pranayama which is the Science of Breathing.  The other limbs that follow are Pratyahara, Dharana, Dhyana and Samadhi.  In simple English, these could be defined as dissolving in Concentration.

If you are missing any part of this in your personal practice or studio group classes, you may need to re-think about what kind of Yoga you do.  Let your ABC’s come together and see how powerful your practice can become.  Lets bow to the divine within us and to the others and do just Yoga.  Lets do Yoga for health and wellness! Lets do Yoga for Peace!  Lets do Yoga for Joy and Contentment!  Lets do just Yoga.

Namaste! I bow to the divine within you!!
