The Angel Fund Golf Tournament to Benefit ALS Research, October 19th at Hopkinton Country Club

The Angel Fund Golf Tournament, benefiting ALS research, will be held on Monday, October 19th at the Hopkinton Country Club, 204 Saddle Hill Road in Hopkinton. Proceeds from the event will go to The Angel Fund, an independent nonprofit organization benefiting ALS research at the Cecil B. Day Neuromuscular Research Center at the UMass Medical Center in Worcester, MA under the direction of world-renowned ALS researcher, Dr. Robert H. Brown, Jr. ALS is a progressive neurodegenerative disease more commonly referred to as Lou Gehrig’s Disease. ALS patients suffer progressive muscle weakness, paralysis and eventually respiratory failure. There is no cure, but there is hope as researchers continue the battle for a cure. The 18-hole shotgun tournament begins with registration from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. with a shotgun start at 10:30 a.m. The $200 per person entry fee includes greens fees, carts, dinner, gifts and prizes. Prizes will be awarded to the top three foursomes, longest drive and closest to the pin (men and women). A cocktail reception will begin at 4 p.m. followed by dinner. Proper golf attire is required. The title sponsor of the golf tournament is Hanover Insurance. A limited number of foursomes are still available.
