VF   How does the golf team look this year?

JM   I think the team looks really good this year it has a great mix of experience and young talent. I believe that Hopkinton will be a contender for the top team in TVL and hopefully make states and be a force to be reckoned with. 

VF   When did you start playing golf?

JM   I started playing when I was around three or four with my grandfather in Florida.  He would take me out everyday to play.  From that time, I have wanted to play golf and be a professional.

VF   How do you prepare during the year?

JM   I try to workout in the mornings or after school.  I practice two to three hours a day.   

VF   What do you like most about golf?

JM   The one thing I like most about golf is the places that it takes me.  I like being able to play on the courses that I have played before.  I like to go out and just play.

VF   Where and when was your best round of golf?

JM   My best round of golf was when I played in the Stan Trojanowski tournament this past summer.  I shot a round of 69.  It was such a good feeling.  A feeling of accomplishment for all the hard work I put into my game.

VF   What are your current and long term plans?

JM  My plan is to help the team win states this year and Tri Valley League.  My long-term plan is to play college golf and then hopefully get on to the PGA Tour.

VF   What is your most memorable golfing moment?

JM   My most memorable moment occurred this past summer.  I qualified for the Florida Open Championship back in July.  I played down in Lecanto, FL on the Black Diamond Ranch golf course.  It really helped me realize that this is what I want to do.
