Christine’s Nails : A Family Business

This post is a follow-up to "Christine's Nails: Think Twice Before Going", I sat down with Christine herself and was pleasantly surprised.

After spending a weekend festering about an experience I had at Christina’s Nails in Hopkinton, MA, and reading some of the comments on my previous Patch post. I decided to give Christina’s a call, and schedule a time to meet with Christina herself. What made me have a conversation with Christina to express my concerns was one of the comments I received on my previous post. I also read the same poorly written complaint on the “Google Review” of Christina’s nails. Something I have learned over time is that in general; poorly written complaints from anonymous sources come from people who complain about everything; the legitimacy should be questioned. That being said I took the advice of another Patch reader and paid Christina a visit.

Little did I know, the woman who fixed my faulty snowflake during the last visit was Christina herself!  I was promptly greeted by her; Christina remembered me and sincerely felt bad. She offered me a cup of coffee and we took a seat to discuss my experience. Christian agreed that the manicure I received was certainly not a reflection of what she expects, and assured me she had already spoken to the technician that did my nails.

Christina runs her business with her brother and daughter, during my visit with Christina I met her daughter, and spoke with her son on the phone prior to coming into the salon. All of which were very understanding, in fact her daughter greeted me as I walked in asking sweetly to look at my nails, and agreed with the poor job that was done. As I sat talking with Christina and her daughter; clients came in and out of the shop, all of which were treated like an extension of their family. I can not agree with the negative comment saying that the staff at Christina’s was rude, because today when I went bearing many complaints, I was greeted with smiles and compassion; something that I seldom find at nail salons.

In the end, Christina wanted to do anything she could to rectify the experience I had, she offered to give me a full refund; something I have never had a nail salon offer, or any service oriented business for that matter. I took the full refund, and told Christina I would be back again; she handled my complaint very professionally. Based on the fabulous customer service I received today, and the welcoming of my feedback; I will be back to get a pedicure at Christina’s Nails in Hopkinton after my final exams!
