By the Numbers: Water Quality/Usage Statistics For 2010

Late last month, the released its 2010 Consumer Confidence Report (CCR), which was mailed to all postal patrons in Holliston before July 1.

The report outlines water quality data and improvements to the water system for 2011. Additional copies of the CCR are available at the , library, post office and online at www.townofholliston.us. For more information call 508-429-0603.

For this week's "By the Numbers," we take a look at some stats from the report:

• 14,942 — Number of residents in Holliston
• 4,463 — Number of metered services in town
• 5 — Number of active wells (Stoddard Park Road, Maple Street, Washington Street, Central Street and Brook Street)
• 798 — Number of fire hydrants
• 100 — Number of miles of water main
• 373 million — Number of gallons pumped in 2010
• 249 million — Number of gallons supplied for residential use
• 46 — Number of gallons used per person per day in 2010
• 1.02 million — Average daily withdrawal (in gallons) in 2010
